Punjab Di Kadhi Recipe: Punjab Di Kadhi is a Punjabi-style yogurt-based curry flavored with spices. Often accompanied by pakoras, it’s a comfort food that reflects the flavors of Punjab.


  • Gram Flour :- 1 cup

  • Chopped Onion :- ¼ cup

  • Chopped Potato :- ¼ cup

  • Ajwain :- 1 tsp

  • Red Chilli Powder :- 1 tsp

  • Chopped Ginger :- 1 tsp

  • Baking Powder :- ½ tsp

  • Oil for deep frying

  • Salt to taste

  • Kadhi curd :- 1 cup

  • Gram Flour :- ¼ cup

  • Dry red chilli whole :- 2

  • Turmeric Powder :- 1 tsp

  • Asafoetida :- a pinch

  • Fenugreek Seeds :- 1 tsp

  • Oil :- 2 tbsp


  • All the pakoras ingredients should be mixed except oil and ½ cup of water should be added and then mixed well.
  • Oil should be heated in a pan and then the gram flour mixture and vegetables should be deep fried after they are made into small balls.
  • The mix gram and yogurt should be mixed in it. They should be blended thoroughly so that no lumps are formed. It should be simmered and boiled on a low flame for about 15 minutes and stirred occasionally.
  • The fried potatoes and red chillies powder should be added and the Punjabi kadhi should be simmered for about 5 minutes.
  • The Punjabi kadhi should then be served hot with rice.
