Neer Dosa Recipe

Neer Dosa Recipe: Neer Dosa, meaning “water dosa,” is a traditional dish from Karnataka and coastal areas of South India. Its thin and delicate nature is attributed to the use of a watery rice batter.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sona Masuri or dosa rice

  • ½ cup coconut, grated

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 2½ cup water

Directions

  • soak 1 cup of rice for 5-6 hours.
  • drain off the water completely and transfer to a blender.
  • add ½ cup coconut.
  • blend to a smooth paste without adding much water.
  • add 1 tsp salt and 2½ cup water.
  • mix well making sure the batter is thin and watery consistency.
  • carefully pour the dosa batter over hot tawa.
  • cover and cook for 1 minute on medium flame.
  • once the dosa is cooked completely, it is ready to serve. do not cook neer dose on both sides.
  • fold the dosa and serve neer dosa immediately with mint chutney or coconut chutney.
