Ingredients
Green Chillies :- 2
Red Chillies (whole)
Garlic Flakes :- 6-8
Salt to taste
Onions (medium) :- 2
Oil :- 2 tbsp
Cumin Seeds :- 1 tsp
Asafoetida :- a pinch
Ginger :- 1 inch
Turmeric Powder :- 1 tsp
Lemon juice :- 1 tsp
Green Gram Split :- ¾ cup
Spinach Leaves :- 15-20
Directions
- The moong dal should be washed and boiled with turmeric powder and salt in about 5 cups of water.
- The spinach leaves should be washed totally in cold running water.
- They should then be roughly shredded.
- The onions should be taken off and then finely cut.
- The green chillies should be de-seeded and then finely cut.
- The garlic should be taken off and cut, after which it should be kept aside.
- The oil should be heated in a kadhai.
- The cumin seeds and asafoetida should be mixed well.
- The green chillies, the cut onions and the broken red chillies should be added once the cumin seeds start changing colour.
- 10. The onions should be stir-fried till they become translucent and soft.
- 11. The garlic and cut ginger should be cut and stir-fried for about half a minute.
- 12. The boiled dal should be mixed in.
- 13. It should be brought to a boil and then the lemon juice and the shredded spinach should be mixed.
- 14. It should then be simmered for nearly 2 minutes and then served hot.
