Neer Dosa Recipe
Cuisine: South IndianNeer Dosa Recipe: Neer Dosa, meaning “water dosa,” is a traditional dish from Karnataka and coastal areas of South India. Its thin and delicate nature is attributed to the use of a watery rice batter.
Ingredients
1 cup sona Masuri or dosa rice
½ cup coconut, grated
1 tsp salt
2½ cup water
Directions
- soak 1 cup of rice for 5-6 hours.
- drain off the water completely and transfer to a blender.
- add ½ cup coconut.
- blend to a smooth paste without adding much water.
- add 1 tsp salt and 2½ cup water.
- mix well making sure the batter is thin and watery consistency.
- carefully pour the dosa batter over hot tawa.
- cover and cook for 1 minute on medium flame.
- once the dosa is cooked completely, it is ready to serve. do not cook neer dose on both sides.
- fold the dosa and serve neer dosa immediately with mint chutney or coconut chutney.
