Mango Rice Recipe: Mango Rice is a South Indian dish that celebrates the flavors of raw mangoes. It’s a traditional recipe prepared during the mango season, offering a delightful blend of tanginess and spice.


  • 3 Cups cooked rice

  • 1 Raw mango

  • 1 tsp Mustard seeds

  • 1 tsp Turmeric

  • 2 tsp Urad daal

  • 2 tsp Chana daal

  • 2 Green chilies

  • 2 tsp Ground nuts

  • 2 tsp Cashew nuts

  • 4 Dry red chillies

  • 5 Curry leaves

  • 5 tsp Sesame seeds

  • 5 tsp Oil

  • Salt to taste


  • Mix grated mango, salt and turmeric to the cooked rice.
  • Add half tsp of oil to prevent the rice from sticking.
  • Take oil in a pan and heat it.
  • Add all the seasoning ingredients along with green chillies.
  • Add in sesame seeds powder when ingredients start to splutter.
  • Mix properly and remove from the heat.
  • Cool and add this masala to the rice.
  • Add salt to taste and mix well.
  • Mango Rice is ready to serve.
